Articles on: Trading Rules

Can I trade news?

High-impact news causes rapid price movements and increased slippage. Trades executed during these periods often don’t reflect real market conditions, despite potentially showing a profit on your account. News trading is permitted, with a few exception:

Bracket strategies around news events are prohibited.

  • Bracket strategy: Simultaneously placing both BUY STOP & SELL STOP orders around a news event.

Restrictions apply to order execution around high-impact news:

  • No new orders can be executed from 2 minutes before until 2 minutes after high-impact news.
  • Example: For US CPI announced at 15:30 GMT+2, no new orders between 15:28 – 15:32.

Important Note:

  • Holding open trades during news events is allowed.
  • Profits from trades violating these rules will be deducted and won’t count towards your target.
  • Losses from such trades will be your responsibility.
